Good news for ReSound ONE hearing aids owners… hands-free phone calls are now available for iPhone and iPad.*
This means ReSound ONE users will be able to answer calls by tapping the button on their hearing aid and enjoy conversations with outstanding sound quality – all without ever having to take their device out of their pocket.

The new technology is extremely beneficial in situations where the users will be conversing while multitasking like when cooking, carrying groceries, being at work or when their iPhone or iPad is out of reach.
To enable hands-free calling on iPhone or iPad, ReSound ONE users can follow these steps:
- Make sure that you have ReSound ONE hearing aids.
- Check to see if your iPhone or iPad is compatible: Hands-free is available on iPhone 11 or later, iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation), iPad Air (4th generation), and iPad mini (6th generation), with software updates iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 or later.
- If compatible, contact your hearing care professional to set up an appointment to activate the hands-free option for your ReSound ONEs through a free update (of firmware) for your hearing aids.
Sivu, a musician who lives with hearing loss, has been trying out ReSound ONE with the hands-free technology. He said, “Like everyone else I use my iPhone a lot to keep in touch with family and friends that I can’t see in person. With this new technology, it makes it a lot easier to call people without having to stop what I’m doing and hold my phone to talk. I don’t have to put everything down, which has proved useful in a recording studio environment. I can use my iPhone exactly the same way as I did before my hearing deteriorated which is extremely important to me.”
For those who are just purchasing ReSound ONE (RIE and BTE) styles, hands-free is likely automatically included in the new sets, but check with your hearing care professional to be sure.

Can we expect the same hands-free update for Android soon?
Hi William. Thank you for reaching out to us. Apple has developed and released that software feature with iOS 15.3. If Google releases something similar on the Android platform in the future, we would work with them to try to ensure that our hearing aids could utilize it. Please contact Customer Technical Support at 888-735-4327 and choose option #1 with any questions you may have. Thank you so much!
When will you have them running on Apple Watch OS? I don’t like the fact you always have to have your phone around. V/R Murph
Hi Noel. Thank you for reaching out to us. Due to hardware differences in the Bluetooth technologies used in current models of hearing devices and the Apple Watch, Apple Watch is not a supported device to pair with hearing aids or processors. Apple is always working with Made for iPhone partners to expand the functionality of hearing devices. If hearing device support is expanded to the Apple Watch, the list of supported hearing devices will be provided here https://support.apple.com/HT201466. For now, you will still need your phone nearby to stream call and media as the hearing aids are only directly connected with the phone itself. We hope to see this in the future as we all keep working towards this. If you have any additional questions, please contact our Consumer Tech Support Team at (888) 735-4327 and choose option #1. Thank you so much!
