What kinds of tests have been conducted regarding ISolate Nanotech’s effectiveness?
After five weeks of AST testing in the lab, none of the nano coated devices showed any type of wear, corrosion or damage.

What are the downsides of ISolate Nanotech?
After extensive testing, we have not found that coating the hearing aids with ISolate Nanotech causes any user problems or performance issues.

Does ISolate Nanotech affect the way my hearing aid will work?
No.

Does ISolate Nanotech allow me to shower or swim with my hearing aids on?
No, while ISolate Nanotech provides protection against elements that can cause damage from regular use, hearing aids are not designed to be completely immersed in water.

Will I get a rash from ISolate Nanotech?
Biocompatibility tests have been conducted and have indicated ISolate Nanotech does not cause any type of skin irritation.

Can I see ISolate Nanotech?
No.

Is this nano coating really new?
It is new to the hearing aid industry. Nanocoating is already used in other industries, such as in treating fabrics to be moisture and stain repellent.

Does ISolate Nanotech prevent dirt from sticking to my hearing instrument?
While every scenario is different, we can say that if you drop your hearing instrument outside and it gets dirty, the dirt will not penetrate the instrument and will be very easy to clean or wipe off.

I worry about environmental pollutants getting into my hearing aid and ruining it. How will ISolate Nanotech prevent this?
ISolate Nanotech’s protective layer will prevent these tiny particles from sticking to the vital components of your hearing instrument.
10.   Is a dry-aid/dry and store system recommended with nanocoating?

Although nanocoating will vastly reduce moisture related issues, regular use of a dry and store system is still the best way to care for hearing instruments.

Why aren’t RIE receivers nanocoated?
There is no history of RIC receivers failing due to moisture. Specifically, there are no returns for corrosion which is indicative of moisture affecting the performance of the RIC receiver.  Resound has chosen to initially focus on nanocoating hearing instruments which have shown signs of corrosion in the past.
