Tell us everything that you would care to share about your hearing loss?
My hearing loss was gradual. At around age 60 or so I started having issues hearing my wife and the TV! I put off doing anything about it for several years until my primary physician suggested that I get a hearing test. We discovered that I was experiencing a moderate hearing loss. Additionally I’d developed tinnitus…probably from long term hunting and shooting with little to no hearing protection. After my diagnosis I purchased fairly inexpensive hearing aids through my health care provide who at that time had a hearing aid affiliate. Fast forward to this winter. I was finding that my hearing aids just weren’t working as well as I wished. Again I went to my health care provider, and they referred me to Listen Hear Hearing Solutions. I went through a thorough exam, and it was recommended that I get a pair of ReSound ONE hearing aids. In March of 2022 they were fitted, and I am so happy with them! The ability to “fine tune” them to the environment is just amazing. Yes they were more expensive than my old aids, but I am glad that made the financial decision.
Based on your experience, do you have suggestions for others on how and where to start?
If you think you might need hearing aids, then YOU DO! Get tested! Most hearing tests are very affordable or even free. I recommend that you check with your hearing health care provider to see if there is any charge for hearing aids. In my case my insurance through AARP picked up a portion of the cost.
What would you tell someone who is considering hearing aids?

I was very pleased with my Resound hearing aid until this year. I upgraded my Android S9 to a new S22 just after my hearing aids reached the 1 yr mark. Since then I have lost all programs associated with my phone including answering the phone. That was my main reason for purchasing the hearing aids. RESOUND tells me it is programming. I hv been waiting since March for Resound to catch up with technology.
