Lotte Hernvig, M.A., is a Principal Audiologist on the ReSound Global Audiology team.
How did you first become interested in a career in audiology?
As a speech and hearing therapist by education, it was not a given that I would work as an audiologist in the hearing aid industry. An opportunity to work closely together with R&D, defining the best hearing aids for people who are going to use them, was very attractive to me.
What has been most fulfilling about your career so far?
The diversity of the job as an audiologist with a hearing aid manufacturer is the absolute biggest asset. It is fantastic to work within audiology in so many different areas of the field, from defining new products from a user perspective to testing hearing aids and accessories with the hearing impaired, all the way to the commercial part of the product launch.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
Today I would go to school for a more technical degree to get a better understanding of the core technology. In my case, I had to learn by doing (with a little help from engineers).
