That’s what the Media is saying about ReSound LiNX, the World’s very first Made for iPhone hearing aid. Hipplay blogger, Jarred Szabadi, says LiNX “is the greatest device to be showcased at CES2014” and “ReSound is redefining the hearing aid.” He adds, “something that has been the same for so long but has the physical space to pack in so much more, hearing aids needed a facelift.”
The 2014 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards appear to be in agreement – LiNX has been selected as a 2014 Honoree in the “Accessible and Universal Design” product category.
MSN Tech writer, Jamie Carter, dubs LiNX as one of the “Best Bluetooth Smart Gadgets”, saying ReSound is providing “a whole new kind of hearing experience”.
Mike Jefferson from Gadgetlite says “About half of the world’s hearing aids are made in Denmark, so it’s not a surprise to see that company from Denmark is developing a hearing aid that will work with iPhone.”
Geoff Cooling over at Just Audiology Stuff calls LiNX at CES “a piece of genius”, claiming “People within the consumer electronics world were really taken by the product, it’s premise and its connective ability.” He says that ReSound is breaking new ground by introducing a hearing aid as a “consumer electronic” and that the hype is building internationally for the release. “I am not sure I can ever remember anything like it.”
As a practice owner, Cooling says “I think it will give us a much stronger opportunity to attract the fifty and even forty somethings.” He sees the overall hearing instruments category moving from corrective devices to “enhancement” devices.
Ken and Beth at the Hearing Center of Castro Valley created a video about the features, benefits and their first thoughts about LiNX. “I’ve been able to hear better in background noise than people with normal hearing, and I like that!” says Ken. He says when you go to a sporting event like a basketball game with someone you want to talk to, you can hit a button on your iPhone and have it function like a remote microphone. He says it’s so comfortable “that you literally forget that it’s in your ear”, which is why it’s very fortunate that you can wear LiNX in the shower without it getting damaged.

Is Resound signing up trial users for the Lynx device to do test and evaluation?
Not at this time, but we’ll let you know if we do.
If resound will be needing trial users for this device. I’m interested as well.
Kind regards from Denmark
I hope there will be a discrete way of changing the volume in (say) a theatre. Heaven forbid if you have to pull out your phone, you’d get a beating before you could explain what you were doing.
