Tech Tip – Aventa 3.4 Microphone Balance

ReSound’s microphone balance slider option allows flexibility in programming, providing adjustability of the hearing instrument microphone and streaming content, for increased patient comfort.

Verso™ Wireless Product

  • Offers two separate microphone slider options, accessed in the Advanced Features screen:   One for the Unite™ TV streamer and the other for the Unite™ Mini Mic.
  • By default, the hearing instrument microphones are active in the streamer program.

January Tech Tip Verso Mic Slider Screen

  • Adjustment Range:
    – 0 to -12 dB
    – 3 dB offset increments
    – Default: -3 dB offset toward the Unite™ accessory icon
    Impact: the hearing instrument microphone is 3 dB softer than the Unite™  accessory streaming content.
  • Offset Slider Options
    – Slider Toward the Unite™ Accessory Icon
    As the slider moves toward the accessory icon, each 3 dB step attenuates the hearing instrument microphone.
    – Slider Toward the Hearing Instrument Microphone Icon
    As the slider moves toward the hearing instrument icon, each 3 dB step attenuates the Unite™ accessory streaming content.
    – To Turn the hearing instrument microphone off
    Move the slider toward the Unite™ accessory, until it reaches a stopping point.

Alera™ Wireless Product

  • Offers one microphone slider option, accessed in the Advanced Features screen.
    – Impacts both the Unite™ TV streamer and Unite™ Mini Mic.
  • The streamer drop down menu defaults to Hearing Instrument mic being active.
    – To turn off the microphone option, select the ‘Streamer,’ drop down and move the check mark to, ‘TV/Radio/PC/Mini Mic,’ only.

  • Adjustment Range

    – Note: For Alera™, Aventa 3 does not offer an option to attenuate the Unite™ accessory streaming content using the microphone slider bar.
